Our new production STORMSONGS is nominated for the Cologne Dance Prize 2024! We are very pleased! The SK Stiftung Kultur awards ceremony will take place on December 02 at 7:30 p.m. in Mediapark 7.
On November 10, we invite you to the 25th edition of Soavi’s LIVING ROOM. Our guest this time is choreographer and Wigman expert Katharine Sehnert. In keeping with her desire to impart Mary Wigman’s legacy and keep it alive, Katharine Sehnert has reworked Wigman’s perhaps most famous work HEXENTANZ 2 (1926) for and with Taeyeon Kim and Lisa Kirsch – both of whom are long-standing members of the Emanuele Soavi incompany ensemble. This solo dance will be performed live by the two dancers as part of the Living Room with musical accompaniment by Thomas Wansing.
In the subsequent conversation, the four of them will provide insights into the multi-layered process of developing the work, reflect on their experiences and discuss the relevance of reconstructive processes today and the modern preservation of dance as cultural heritage alongside Emanuele Soavi and Thomas Thorausch, deputy director of the Cologne Dance Archive.
Our program continues with a guest performance of AUREA in the italian cultural heritage city Matera on December 01 before this extremely successful and packed dance year slowly draws to a close.
