The work of the choreographer Emanuele Soavi covers a broad spectrum: from large stage productions in the context of opera houses or philharmonic orchestras to experimental works in unusual locations. These are appropriately staged at various venues in the Landkreis Miltenberg, including old town halls, a church, exhibition rooms, a community center and the Frankenhalle Erlenbach.
The concept comprises a total of seven guest performances, mostly with live music: three large stage formats, including the first part of the triptych FLUT – created in 2021 in cooperation with the Cologne Opera and the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra – a performance course, two performative installations on public locations and a district-wide closing party with guest performance.
Emanuele Soavi and his team also have a wide range of experience in the field of dance mediation: since 2016, he has been inviting interested audience to his LIVING ROOM to exchange ideas about their own work and contemporary dance in general and to get to know artists from different disciplines. In addition to other formats such as open training sessions and rehearsals or physical introductions before the performances, the local audience is introduced to contemporary dance also through photography and music: A “photo project” starts with an exhibition of company photos by the renowned photographer Joris Jan Bos and then invites amateur and professional photographers from the region to take pictures of the ensemble working on and behind the stage for the entire duration of the project. Furthermore, schools with interest in music and dance will be part of long-term projects, developing choreographic-musical sketches together. Film evenings and exhibitions as well as other events in public spaces complete the accompanying program.
