10 years dance 2012 – 2022
In 2012, choreographer, dancer and performer Emanuele Soavi founded his label “Emanuele Soavi incompany” in Cologne. Since then, he has consistently pursued his path of developing a distinctive dance language that does not celebrate virtuosity for its own sake, but rather explores the human body in its relationship to the world and to what drives and animates it. His spectrum ranges from intimate solos to large-scale projects in cooperation with established local institutions, such as the Oper Köln, the Kölner Philharmonie and the Duisburg Philharmonics.
“10 years of Emanuele Soavi incompany” will be celebrated with a two-week anniversary program between September 18 and October 2, 2022 at the Tanzfaktur Köln. A highlight of the program will be the premiere of the double bill evening GEZEITEN with the two parts FLUT 1 and URANUS BALL. The performative installation ORAKEL, the photo exhibition ACTS as well as the film preview ALL IT TAKES will also be on the agenda representing a small section of Soavi’s versatile work.
Meeting and interacting with the audience have always been matters close to Emanuele Soavi’s heart. Thus, the anniversary program will offer a variety of such opportunities: You take part in casual conversations at Soavi’s LIVING ROOM and the AUDIENCE TALKS, in PHYSICAL INTRODUCTIONS that enable physical experiences, in workshops for amateurs and professionals or in a multi-day professional training, and you can celebrate with us at the DANCE FLOOR party.
